NGOs play a critical role in raising awareness, mobilising resources and implementing programmes that deliver results in key impact areas. They often operate directly with affected populations on the ground, thereby gaining a deep understanding of the root causes and possible solutions to societal problems. NGOs need to be able to run programmes with limited budgets, leveraging volunteer engagement while keeping management costs to a minimum – all this to deliver results to a maximum number of stakeholders.
